There has been very little research carried out by this Group into the History of the Knackery. There is no doubt that it played a significant part in the lives of the Culbokie Community and it would make an interesting project for someone to take on. You can register your interest here history@culbokiect.org.

The operation attracted a lot of attention during the 1970's and 80's due to the pungent smells drifting over the Alcaig community. Many a Ferintosh Community Council meeting was dominated by knackery discussions.
