Cairn celebrates new development in Culbokie
An affordable housing development delivered by Cairn and our partners Tulloch Homes has officially opened, meeting local housing needs in the Black Isle, and contributing towards the Scottish Government’s drive to deliver 110,000 new homes by the end of 2032.
Developed with the support of the Scottish Government and Highland Council, and in partnership with Highland Housing Alliance, the 14 homes add much needed quality, affordable homes to the local area.
Councillors Lyndsey Johnston and Sarah Aitken, alongside members of the Ferintosh Community Council and Culbokie Community Trust, were just some of those there to celebrate the completion of the development.
Don Jamieson, Chair of the Cairn Board, said: “We are delighted to see the completion of our new development in Culbokie. There is a clear need for good quality, affordable rented homes in the Black Isle and we are pleased to be able to help extend this community. Cairn is all about great homes, great services and great people; and we are thrilled to welcome tenants to their new homes and wish them years of happiness as Cairn tenants. Delivering this development has been a real team effort and my thanks go to the Scottish Government, Highland Council and Tulloch Homes, the staff team at Cairn who managed the project, our partners at Highland Housing Alliance, and the Culbokie Community Trust for selling us the land.”
Bruce Morrison, Ferintosh Community Council, said: “Congratulations to Cairn and Culbokie Community Trust on creating quality affordable housing in our area’s main settlement of Culbokie. The new residents have been warmly welcomed by our community and are already bringing extra vibrancy to the heart of this village.”
Richard Fyfe, Culbokie Community Trust, said: “We are delighted to have played a part in the development of affordable housing in Culbokie. The partnership working with Cairn has been a great experience. We look forward to working with Cairn and the residents of these houses as we develop our plans for Culbokie Green which we believe will enhance the community for all residents.”
