Reminiscences of an original owner:
"We booked it in July 2004 but it wasn't started building until the next year so we didn't move in until September 2005. I think construction would have started in 2003 as when we found the development in 2004 a lot of houses were well on in building. When we found the place there were only about 6 houses still available for sale and some of the others already had folks living in them. By the time we moved in only a small number were still waiting for owner's to move in.
The original planning application was for 55 houses but Highland Council restricted it to 37 . Good call as it means that the houses are well spaced with decent amount of garden space.
Deveron Homes have subsequently gone into administration in 2019.
The Highland Council imposed conditions when granting building approval for our development that there had to be a children's play park provided. They also stipulated that a factor should be appointed to oversee the care of the development including the playpark who arranges for contractors to do any work that is required. They also arrange for insurance that is needed for the development and each household is then billed for a share of the costs."
An interesting point is that the residents of the Balnatua estate managed to remove this necessity for a play area. When the residents of Ferindonald attempted to remove the requirement on them they were disappointed by the Highland Council's response that the stipulation had to stand.
